Recipe: Slow cooked French Onion Soup

slow cooked french onion soup


+ 5 large Onions
+ 2 tbls Butter (melted)
+ 2 tbls Olive Oil
+ 2 tbls Balsamic Vinegar
+ 1 ltr Beef Stock (2 stock cubes)

RECIPE add straight to the slower cooker

1. Slice the onions into half moons, thinly is good
2. add the melted butter
3. add the olive oil
4. salt and black pepper to season

5. Cover and cook on high for 5 hours or until the onions turn a soft golden brown.
6. add the balsamic vinegar
7. add the beef stock
8. Cover and cook on low OVERNIGHT

Done! Portion it out and freeze.

When you're ready to eat...

1. Heat the soup up
2. Put it in an oven-proof bowl,
3. Drizzle butter and shave Grana Padano on to a sliced baguette
4. Grill until cheese is lightly browned
