It's official, the heating is on in my household and the long light evenings are well and truly over. It's time to get out those scented candles, and get cosy on the sofa with a blanket and a hot cuppa! Goodbye summer and 'Hello Autumn!'

A massive home trend for this Autumn is gold tones. Rose gold is still a leading contender in home interior, especially as there are so many home items you can buy on the high street at a bargain price. Rustic golds are a great colour trend to make your home warm and cosy but adding a little glamour.

My home is quite neutral and minimalist but rustic golds just instantly warms a room up and a colour I certainly want to add more of. My favourite metallic accents for the home has to be big gold plant pots. Gold just looks so effective against a deep green plant. A big statement piece that is always a hit is a big gold mirror. It's very effective against a dark or light wall. I'm also quite partial to gold kitchenware, it spices up your kitchen and looks super cool displayed on an open shelf.

I've recently discovered is gold wallpaper and it can really enhance a room, adding instant style and warmth. Taskers* have a great range of gold wallpaper whether your style is classic, contemporary or crazy bold and quirky! Their range of metallic wallpaper include designs from well-known names such as Kelly Hoppen (My ultimate fav designer), Julien MacDonald and Graham and Brown.

Gold tones will lift the most ordinary of rooms and the best news yet,  you don't have to wallpaper the whole room, a single feature wall speaks volumes. Gold metallic wallpaper is definitely the on-trend way to add some very modern chic to your interiors. It pairs beautifully with other metallic accents. I would personally have a gold metallic feature wall in a white and cool room. It's minimal and not too busy, but super stylish. But if your thing is hotel boudoir, then black with gold creates luxurious drama. It's fun and who doesn't want to add a bit of personality to their home?!

I'm currently looking to decorate my little boy's nursery room (currently light grey), and I'm loving the range of wallpaper suitable for kids rooms. Especially the polka dot wallpaper by Graham and Brown. It's quirky and fun, but also contemporary - Something that pleases both child and parent (win win if you ask me!)

I found some great inspiration on Pinterest that have given me some great ideas. There are homes out there that have used gold wallpaper,  and their rooms look so creative and stylish. I'm certainly going for this trend for my little boy's room, it just gives off so much personality.
